GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps. Mark off the width and height of the pronghorn. Draw a circle for its head and two ovals for its breast and croup.
GRID STEP. With a smooth line, join the ovals and the circle.
GRID STEP. Draw small ovals for pronghorn’s joints. Define with light lines the horns, an ear with its tip, an eye and the long face of the animal.
GRID STEP. Outline the pronghorn’s legs and hooves. Pay attention to the fact that the antelope’s forelegs are straight while its legs are not. Add the tail and the “y”-like horns.
GRID STEP. Use the previous steps to draw the rest of the legs. Add small ovals for the pronghorn’s joints. Delineate the legs, but note that one of the forelegs is bent. Outline the hooves.
GRID STEP. Detail the eyes, ears and fur.
Contour the pronghorn carefully. Erase all guidelines.
GRID STEP. Color the animal in its natural tones. The whole body is orange, but there are several white strikes on the neck and head. The pronghorn’s ribs are also white.
