How to draw an armadillo from Animals
step-1
GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps.
1) Draw a rectangle that will define the conditional proportions and boundaries of the chosen drawing. 2) From the middle of the rectangle, draw one vertical and one horizontal line equally dividing the shape. 3) Draw another horizontal line equally dividing the upper half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a horizontal line equally dividing the bottom half of the rectangle. 4) Draw a vertical line equally dividing the left half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a vertical line equally dividing the right half of the rectangle.

GRID STEP. Mark off the width and height of the picture. Add guidelines for the body. Draw an oval for the head of the armadillo. Add a line, which will act as the center of its head. With a smooth line, define the shape of its shell.

GRID STEP. Draw the shapes of the armadillo’s body and tail.

GRID STEP. Define the legs of the animal.

GRID STEP. Outline the shapes of the snout, legs and feet.
step-6
GRID STEP. Draw guidelines for the toes, ears and moth.
step-7
GRID STEP. Add lines to the ears and body of the armadillo. Line its eye, nose and claws.
step-8
GRID STEP. Work on the figure, paying special attention to detail.
step-9
GRID STEP. Contour the armadillo, trying to vary the thickness and darkness of the line. Add more detail. Erase all guidelines.
